What happens before my appointment?
Please call or text 07971 574334 to pre-book your appointment.  BIW is not a drop-in service so please do not just turn up expecting to be treated.
BIW will need your full name, phone number and date of birth to create a Client Card for you and to book the appointment.
Once a mutually convenient date and time has been arranged a non-refundable booking deposit of £10 is required to secure your appointment.  This amount is then taken off the total price of your treatment.
You can make your £10 payment using Paym (use the above mobile number), just be sure you have registered your mobile number to your bank account.
The booking will not be confirmed until the booking deposit is received.

What happens at my appointment?
Clients will first need to complete a consultation form (a copy of which can be found on this site).  Please try to arrive about 5-10 minutes before your appointment time for this, especially if this is your first appointment.  Each subsequent appointment you will need to sign your form that no information has changed.
You will be shown into the treatment room where you can remove all clothing from the area to be treated.  You do not need to be completely naked if having a Smoothie; you may leave on socks and T-shirt/top.
You will be provided with a freshening wipe (similar to baby wipes) to thoroughly cleanse the area, front to back.  Please place used wipes in the bin provided.
You will then lie flat on the treatment table, face up (except for the Peach Cobbler where you will be face down) and with the towel provided, cover your groin.
Your therapist will wait outside the room until you are on the treatment table.
The therapist will then enter the room and confirm exactly how much hair you wish to have removed.
Your hair may need to be trimmed with electric clippers or scissors prior to waxing.  Please do not do this yourself at home before the appointment as you may cut it too short.
You will be given a folded Kleenex with which to hold your penis.
The therapist will then apply an antiseptic skin cleanser to the treatment area, followed by a spritz of oil to protect the skin.
After checking the temperature of the wax, the therapist will then begin to apply wax to the areas to be treated.
You will need to hold your penis out of the way at times, as well as assist with stretching out the skin of your scrotum.  You will also need to move your legs into a "frogs legs" type position but please let your therapist know if this becomes uncomfortable.  If your Smoothie includes the buttocks/anus you will need to get onto your knees and elbows with your bottom up.
The therapist will tell you what she needs you to do as needed.
Once the hair is removed the therapist will remove any traces of wax, cleanse the skin again and apply a post-wax lotion to cool and calm the skin.
The therapist will then leave the room to allow you to get dressed.
Once dressed, you will pay the therapist the remaining balance of the treatment, she will remind you of your home care responsibilities and give you written advice to maintain your treated skin. (You can also see the Aftercare page).
You can make your next appointment at this time.

Is waxing painful?
It can be, it depends on your pain threshold and the skill of your therapist.  Intimate waxing obviously is performed in sensitive areas but your therapist will do all she can to avoid hurting you.  You can help by being relaxed, asking any questions before the treatment starts and avoiding any unnecessary moving.  You may also wish to take a painkiller about an hour before your treatment time if you're especially sensitive, however please do not drink any alcohol.

How long will my appointment last?
This depends on what treatment/s you've booked and how much hair you have to remove.  It can be anywhere from 30 minutes to a couple of hours.  When you book, an approximate time will be given, however this cannot be confirmed until the therapist sees the amount of hair to remove.

What if I need to cancel or change my appointment time?
Please give your therapist at least 24 hours notice for cancellations or changes.  Please call or text the mobile number during Opening Hours only if you need to cancel/change appointments.
Any cancellations or changes made within 24 hours will result in the loss of your £10 booking deposit.
Clients who cancel/change appointments within 24 hours will be required to pay a 50% deposit to secure their next appointment.

How long will the results last?
You will usually need another appointment approximately every 5 weeks.  However everyone's hair grows differently so it could be every 4 weeks or every 6 weeks.  Do not shave, tweeze or use depilatory creams in between appointments as this interrupts the hairs growth cycle.

Why should I wax instead of shave/use depilatory creams?
Waxing lasts much longer as it removes the hair from the root below the skin, rather than from the skin's surface.  You are also less likely to get ingrown hairs or the itchy regrowth phase.
It can take approx 4 treatments for your hair to get on the same cycle.  This means you can wait longer between treatments and the hair will gradually become sparser and softer.

What happens if I get an erection?
It can happen!  The therapist is working in a sensitive area and it is usually an involuntary reaction.  They tend to vanish when the wax is being removed but can come and go.  If it sticks around, you will just have to hold it out of the way so the therapist can continue to work.

Are there any "extras?"
Absolutely not!  This is a professional waxing service that your therapist has spent years and a lot of money on getting trained, qualified and insured.  Any sort of inappropriate behaviour (actions or comments) will result in the immediate stopping of your treatment.  You will be told to get dressed and to immediately leave the premises.  Any such incidents will be reported to the police.
